Where to Stay
San Francisco City Hall is located in an area that has historically had some serious challenges, and unfortunately that area and parts of downtown haven’t economically recovered from the pandemic. While you’re there, just be aware of your surroundings.
If you’d like to stay relatively close to city hall, here are some options. We suggest booking early, as June is during the busy tourist season:
The W Hotel
181 3rd St.
Hotel G
386 Geary St.
The Marker Union Square
501 Geary St.
San Francisco has many hotels with different price ranges. Airbnb also has a lot of options as well. Feel free to ask us about a place before you book it.
Flying
Fly into San Francisco International Airport.
Getting an Uber, Lyft, or cab to and from wherever you’re staying in the city should be around $30-50.
Getting around
The easiest is Uber/Lyft. The city is geographically very small, so most Uber/Lyft rides will be around $18 - $25. We suggest trying Waymo while you’re here, because robo-cars! The cost is usually about the same as Uber/Lyft, but can be significantly more depending on the day/time.
If you’re feeling up to it, public transit here is pretty decent. There is a (recently upgraded) train from the airport to downtown. Once in the city, there is a subway/light rail system that goes to many parts of the city.
Renting a car and driving is an option, but know that many hotels charge for parking, and it’s hard/expensive to park in the city.
